		First put forth by Eliyahu Goldratt in his landmark book The Goal, the Theory of Constraints has evolved into a powerful methodology for managing manufacturing businesses. If you don't know what a "Herbie" is, you need to check out Goldratt's books and some of these sites: Goldratt Books The Goal -- Aimed squarely at manufacturers, this book, written like a novel, is an easy to read introduction to the concepts behind Theory of Constraints. What is This Thing Called Theory of Constraints -- This is a more detailed introduction into the ideas that drive Theory of Constraints and is a good introduction to the power behind the idea. Web Sites AGI Goldratt Institute -- This is the website of Eliyahu Goldratt. There are many articles of interest as well as links to other TOC resources.
